Biography
Prof. Dr. Gamal Ramadan is the Professor of Molecular and Cellular Immunology and the Head of the Physiology Branch at the Zoology Department, Faculty of Science, Ain Shams University (Cairo, Egypt). He has completed his D.Sc. (Dr. rer. nat.) in Molecular Immunology from Hannover University (Germany) and postdoctoral studies from Medical College of Wisconsin (USA) in the Blood and Marrow Transplantation Program. He was a guest investigator at the Institute of Virology, Bremen University, Germany (1997-1999) and the Department of Clinical Immunology, Hannover Medical School, Germany (1999-2001). Also, he worked as an Assistant Professor in Blood and Marrow Transplantation Program, Medical College of Wisconsin, WI, USA (from March, 2003 to January, 2005) and an Associated Professor in the Department of Biological Science, College of Science, King Faisal University, Saudi Arabia (from January, 2007 to July, 2012). He has published many papers in highly impacted journals and has been serving as an editorial board member and reviewers of a number of reputed journals. In addition, he got many grants and awards from the Egyptian government and the international scientific congresses and committees as the Research Paper Award in Basic Science (Wisconsin Cancer Centre, 2004), the State Incentive Award in Immunology (Egyptian Government, 2006), and the Highly Cited Researcher Award (Thomson Reuters, 2016). Moreover, he discovered 11 T-cell epitopes for Aspergillus fumigatus that were recorded in the International Immune Epitope Database, La Jolla, CA, USA.
