FRONTIERS OF MEDICAL LASERS IN PEDIATRICS

Abstract
The medical application of laser irradiation is of great benefit to human health. The rapid development of several laser modalities has established its wide utilization in the different medical specialties.
Interstitial laser coagulation by Nd: YAG laser is effective in treatment of malignant hepatic tumour using either laparoscopic approach or percutaneous access.
Percutaneous interstitial laser therapy using Nd: YAG laser appears to be safe and potentially effective, minimal invasive treatment for children with deep vascular lesions.
Other applications of laser therapy in treatment of pediatric diseases are various and of useful effect.
