Heteroannulation of some fused nitrogen and oxygen containing heterocycles from 3-formylchromone building block synthon and screening of their biological activity
Eman Abdel-Rahman El-Sayed Hassan El-Helw;
Abstract
Summary
Within the framework structure of benzopyrones, chromenones are known as useful building blocks in heterocyclic organic synthesis. Besides, the chromone moiety is also a part of a large number of molecules of medicinal significance. Consequently, great efforts have been devoted to isolation of this class of heterocycles from natural resources and synthesis of a large variety number of chromone derivatives, in addition to evaluation of their biological activity, particularly, as potential pharmaceutical agents.
In this investigation, the author aims to report the behavior of some chromone derivatives towards some nucleophiles and to construct various heterocycles in addition to evaluate their antitumor activity.
