CONGENITAL FETAL MALFORMATIONS AT AIN SHAMS UNIVERSITY MATERNITY HOPITAL DURING THE YEAJS 1991 TILL 1995 Retrospective study

Abstract
Objective :
• To identify the incidence of deterrent ty pes of congenital malformation in Aiu Shams University matemity h hospital during the years 199 I till
1995.
• To identify the different pattern, outcome and related factors to congenitally malformed babies.
Study design :
All the patient's records during the years 1 991 till 1995 were reviewed.
Those records which showed the delivery (more than 20 weeks gestation) of a malforimed fetus were collected.
Da ta obtained from these records were fed into a separate computer
sheet and studied.
Results :
The mosl common malformation were those of The central nervous systemthen multiple malforma tion, fetal hyd rops, musculoskeletal and lastly genitouriuary malformation.
Conclusion :
f rom this study it was concluded that the most conunon malformation were central netvous system and no specific direct cause for
this.
Poor registration, poor autenatal care and poofollow up for these cases was found ,
