Structural Studies on the Fluorescence Chemosensor of Some Azomethine Ligands with Different Metal Ions
Sally GamalSedeekSaleh;
Abstract
The present thesis includes synthesis of two ligands APA, itsPdAPAcomplex ando-OHAcphHzfor using them as optical sensors in assessment the concentration of alpha amylase enzyme in human saliva of smokers and non-smokers until the concentration of up to 9.3 × 10-10mol L-1 using new modified spectrofluorimetric analytical method by quenching of the luminescence intensity of a nanoPdAPA optical sensor doped within a sol-gel by maltose concentrations in DMSO. Salivary α- amylase has been proposed as a marker for activity of the sympathetic nervous system (SNS). Also, o-OHAcphHz has been used as optical sensor for detection of zinc in human hair usingnew modified spectrofluorometricanalytical method by enhancement of the luminescence intensity of a nanoo-OHAcphHzoptical sensor doped within a sol-gel by chelation with Zn2+ ions in the human hair.
This thesis consists of three chapters, two summaries (Arabic & English), Abstract and References.
Chapter 1 (Introduction):
This chapter includes a general introduction about the preparation of azine and hydrazone compounds as well as the complexes of azines with the transition metal ions. The previous studies on the synthesized azomethine (Azine and hydrazone) derivatives and their metal complexes with structure using different spectroscopic and morphological techniques.Also, the application of the synthesized compounds as optical sensors in biological field.
Chapter 2 (Experimental):
This chapter includes the materials used in this thesis and the preparation methods of the optical sensors PdAPA and o-OHAcphHz. Also, the analytical methods used for studying the structures of the prepared compounds such as FT-infrared, UV& Visible, Fluorescence, and Elemental analysis.
Chapter 3 (Results & Discussion):
This chapter includes two parts (1 and 2):
Part 1: Includes characterization of the synthesized APA and its Palladium complex using different spectroscopic techniques.Also, the analytical application of the PdAPA as a Chemo-optical sensor for determining α- amylase in human saliva using new modified spectrofluorimetric method.
Part 2: Includes characterization of the synthesized compound (o-OHAcphHz) using different spectroscopic techniques. Also, the analytical application of the (o-OHAcph Hz) as a chemo-optical sensor in determination of Zn2+ ions in human hair using new modified spectrofluorimetric method.
