CYTOGENETIC STUDIES OF SOME SPECIES OF FRESH-WATER FIS ES IN UPPER EGYPT

Abstract
A total of ten species of freshwater fishes representing five orders of fishes were morphologically and cytogenetically studied. The results of chromosomal analysis were compared with those obtained from the classical methods of taxonomy using ecological, morphological and anatomical characters alone. The following is a summary of the results.
