Abstract


Family planning clinics covermg all over the world, its servtces are I available worldwide. Family planning is important not only for solving the population problem but also for promoting health of both mothers and children.

Although family planning services benefits a broad spectrum of world population, however inappropriate provision of family planning services can lead to risk of transmitting blood borne pathogens through the use of
I contaminated instruments. The magnitude of such risk is high particularly in
communities that suffer high rates of sexually transmitted diseases.

The prevalence rate of infection with blood borne diseases is increasing. In addition, there is an increase in the number of individuals presenting for care
I and asymptotically infected with blood borne pathogens such as human
immunodeficiency virus (HIV), hepatitis B virus (HBV), hepatitis C virus
I (HCV) and Delta hepatitis. Since it is not possible to know who is infected and
who is not, so that health care workers must treat every client or patient as is potentially infected with any type of blood borne pathogens.
