Abstract

Fibrosis of {he sub-glottic lesion,s •econdary to scleroma, leads to

•sub-glottic •stenosis to the degree which may endanger the life of the •

Sub-glottic stenosis has been refi•actorv to wide variety of treatments. Adequate airway even when achie'ed was ficequently at the

Recently a new modality, the C02 laser, has been added to the list. The advantage of this procedure is that it can be performed
.endoscopically, thus an open operation.could likely be avoided.

This study was done to evaluate the role of C02 laser in the treatment of post-scleromatous subglottic stenosis. The patients were subdi' id d. according to the degree of im olvement of the lumen circumference and the length of the stenotic segment, into four h'roups The success rate was different in each group.
