Anatomy of the basal ganglia and pathophysiology of movement disorders:
The basal ganglia are implicated in a wide spectrum of movement disorders they are a collection of sub-cortical nuclei and consist of the striatum, lentiform nucleus, substantia nigra and the subthalamic nucleus.
