STUDY ON ATTENUATION OF SOLAR RADIATION BY AEROSOLSOVER SOME REGIONS IN A. R. EGYPT

Afaf Gaballah Shazly;

Abstract

The intensity of direct so ar radiation incident on a given surface element depends on the depletion along its path through the atmosphere. The depletion is small in pure air but infreases with the amount of contamination, pollution, or turbidity associated with variable components such water vapor, dust, haze or generally aerosol particles [Robinson, 1966]. The solar irradiance I, also depends on the solar elevation and hence shows a diurnal and annual cycle. Because of the diurnal variation, it is clear that measurements of I are only comparable when made at the same solar elevation and optical depth. [Latimer, 1974]
