Abstract


Background: High quality nursing care is desired by the patient and promised by nurses.
The study aim was to assess nursing staff opinion of the requirements and obstacles to adopt
TQM in the selected hospitals at al- Fayoum governorate. Research design, descriptive
exploratory study used. Subject the study convenience sample included 1040 nurses, from the
total population in selected hospital (1500) nurses, worked in the (7) hospitals at Fayoum
governorate. Data collected by using one tool, its divided into four major parts as follows,
related to a nursing opinion about concept, reasons, requirements and obstacles of TQM. The
result concluded that the staff nurses ' accept idea to adopt TQM, in selected hospital at
Fayoum and identify the importance of applying TQM at their organization, , and have the
desire to implement quality but need to lead a successful coach and training program for
nurses is needed and follow up consistently while providing the necessary resources and
possibilities for quality The study recommended, national strategic planning to processes to
applying system of TQM especially in hospital Fayoum governorate ,sustaining the implementation
of a training program for nurses and provides capabilities and resources to the possibility of
the application of quality and raising the efficiency of nursing.
