EXPLORATION FOR RADIOACTIVE MINERALS IN WADI MUWEYLHAH WADI BAYZAH AREA USING AEROSPECTROMETRIC AND AEROMAGNETIC SURVEY DATA, SOUTH EASTERN DESERT, EGYPT.

HlLMY SALAH OSMAN ABOUELNAGA;

Abstract

The study aims at the elucidation of surface and subsurface geological and structural setting ofthe area and the delineation ofthe significant radioactive zones to locate the potential radioactive targets. Important results and conclusions of the interpretations of the aeroradiometric survey data could be concluded. The maximum values ofTc, eU, eTh and K% are 34 Ur, 19.2 ppm
38 ppm, and 4.2% and the averages are 4.2 Ur, 1.7 ppm, 4.3 ppm. and 1.2% respectively. The aerospectrometric data have been statistically analyzed . Radio rock units map was constructed through the application of factor analysis technique which revealed the interrelationships among the seven variable ( Tc. eU, eTh, K%, eU/eTh ,eU/K and eTh/K), consequently, it was possible to differentiate between four types of younger granites, two types of older granites and two types of Nubian sandstone.
