The present study aimed at integrating English with other subjects through activities to enhance learning English through pleasure and enjoyment.

To achieve the aim of the study, the previous literature and related studies on content - based instruction and characteristics of learners at lower primary level were reviewed. Two units integrating English with other subjects through activities were designed. A teacher's guide for the proposed units was developed. A class was chosen randomly among four classes in Al-Bashayer Language School in Cairo. The subjects of the study were 24 students who were taught the suggested units. The instruments of the study included the portfolio assessment and the assessment checklist. Qualitative methods were used to assess student's development over six weeks.

The qualitative data were gleaned from teacher's interviews, site observation and portfolio assessment. The results obtained were analyzed and findings were discussed. Results revealed that language can be taught effectively through the medium of subject matter. Furthermore, learning can be fun to young children through educational activities and games were students learn and think through the target language.
