BIOMEDICAL IMAGE ANALYSIS AND VISUALIZATION

Abstract

Many advances in medicine have arisen over the past twenty years due to the large-scale introduction of computers. It was quickly recognized that computer technology could be used for storing and correlating information. With the present advances in co m putational power, it is strongly required to produce data that is more intuitive than the two­ Dimensional (20) representation provided by paper and slides. The effect of turning a set of 20 images in to a Three-Dimensional (3D) representation as building a graph from a set of values. Producing 30 worlds from medical data sets is generally referred to as scientific vis ualization and many computer scientists from both images processing and computer graphics backgrounds have contributed to t he work done in this area.
