STUDY OF SOLID HEPATIC MASSES BY THREE DIMENSIONAL ULTRASONOGRAPHIC GREY SCALE AND POWER DOPPLER HISTOGRAM

Mohammad EI-Sayed Soliman;

Abstract

This study aimed at evaluating the role of grey scale histogram and power Doppler histogram in the diagnosis of different solid focal hepatic lesions. It was found that the mean grey value (MGV) was highest in cases of haemangioma. There was a significant correlation between MGV and the echogenic pattern of focal hepatic lesions. The mean value of vascular indices (VI, FI, VFI) was highest in HCC cases followed by haemangiomas. The mean value of (VI, FI, VFI) was higher in HCC and metastases than in liver cirrhosis.

Key words: Grey scale histogram - Power Doppler histogram - Solid hepatic masses
