Abstract
Ventilator-associated pneumonia is an infection of the lung parenchyma developing in patients on mechanical ventilation for more than 48 hours. It is a common problem in the mechanically ventilated patients if they were inadequately cared. VAP is associated with increased morbidity and mortality rates, in addition to increased cost and the period of hospital stay
