Hani Abdel Raouf Morsi;

Abstract

To evaluate the role of prenatal ultrasound in the diagnosis
& management of PUV, we have analyzed all the available predictive parameters either_pre or postnatal with stress on
the bladder status using the bladder score as a possible postnatal predictive parameter.

51 children were-studied between 1989 to 1999 in the children hospital of Robert Debre, Paris,•France.
41patients having prenatal diagnosis (with mean age of diagnosis 33 weeks of gestation), and 10 patients without prenatal diagnosis (mean age of diagnosis 21 days of life)as a group of control & to find out if there is a difference in the outcome between the 2 groups.
Mean follow up of 5 years in the 2 groups.
The surgical intervention was only primary valve ablation (during the fist week in 71o/o of cases)and observation & follow up, mainly by ultrasonography, cystourethrography & serum creatinine.
