Abstract


A lysimeter experiment was carried out in the fann of Agricultural Faculty of lsmailia, to study the effect of sulfur, town refuse and sewage sludge applications as soil amendments on the growth of alfalfa and sorghum plants. These plants cultivated on calcareous, alluvial and sandy soils and irrigated with different salinity levels in the irrigation water. Some physical and chemical properties of the investigated soils before and after cropping also evaluated
