STUDY OF THE EFFECT OF SUCCESSFUL PRIMARY PERCUTANEOUS CORONARY INTERVENTION ON MYOCARDIAL REPOLARIZATION
Mohammed Yahia Shalaby;
Abstract
T
he present study was done to investigate the effect of coronary perfusion on QT interval dispersion in patients with acute myocardial infarction (MI) after primary PCI.
The study was conducted on 100 patients and diagnosed as having acute ST segment elevation myocardial infarction. All patients were treated by primary percutaneous coronary intervention.
All patients were subjected to: Thorough history taking and complete physical examination, laboratory investigations including cardiac enzymes, Twelve-lead surface ECG at admission and after primary PCI. ECG will be coded and analyzed for QT interval; corrected QT and QT dispersion. The QT interval was measured in all lead. The corrected QT interval was calculated with the Bazett formula, emergency coronary angiography and coronary angioplasty. Only TIMI 3 patients were included on this study and exclude all patients with In the present study we found statically significant relation between QTD, c QTD and risk factors (smokers diabetic and hypertension patients) that QTD and c QTD increase in present of these risk factors before and after 1ry PCI. Also we found statistically significant decrease of QTD and c QTD after the 1ry PCI comparison before 1ry PCI.
So In this study we found that patients undergoing primary PCI within 12 h, characterized by progressive shortening of QTD is achieved with successful reperfusion (TIMI 3 flow) of occluded infarcted related artery may indicate significant electrical stabilization.
