PHARMACOKINETIC PHARMACODYNAMIC MODELING OF CEFQUINOME IN SUCKLING CALVES NORMAL AND WITH RESPIRATORY SIGNS

Mohammed Said Mohammed Saber Omar;

Abstract

Pharmacokinetics of cefquinome was studied in 3 groups of friesian calves after intramuscular injection of cefquinome (2mg/kg BW) in apparently healthy calves(Group A), diseased calves with respiratory signs and disease calves with respiratory signs co-ministered with flunixin (1mg/ kg B.WT),(Group B and C) . Cefquinome concentrations in plasma was determined using Sarcina lutea (ATCC 9341) as test organism
The pharmacodynamic of cefquinome on respiratory signs was studied in diseased calves after intramuscular administration of cefquinome (2mg/kg BW) alone or co-administration of flunixin (1mg/kg B.WT)for 5 days after diagnosis based on clinical parameters and bacteriological isolation and identification as well as examination of blood smears.
