ENGY FAROUK ABDEL GHANY;
Abstract
The present study was designed to evaluate the diagnostic yield of plasma lactoferrin in comparison to CRP and leucocytic count in children with various infections.
After thorough clinical examination, complete blood picture was performed to categorize patients according to the number of neutrophils into two groups: Non-neutropenic (NNP) group (n=15). and neutropenic (NP) group (n=15) and 10 health children as a control group. All the
study participants gave blood samples for determination of baseline <;;
reactive protein and lactoferrin levels. Patients gave two samples: on day of admission (S1) and or. the 3'd day of admission (82).
