Abstract


The time which elapses between an injury and definitive surgical intervention is a critical factor in detennining the survival rate of trauma victim. This time period later became known as "the Golden Hour". Trauma is a national health problem best dealt with by the development of a coordinated system insuring prompt access to optimal care and rehabilitation. This system includes prehospital care, organization prior to trauma patient arrival and acute hospital ca e.

Airway disturbance, uncontrolled hemorrhage and head injury are major causes of mortality.

Current scoring techniques are based predominately on anatomical or physiological data as Glasgow Coma score, revised trauma score, abbreviated injury scale, injury severity score.

The key of management of trauma patient is an organized and systemic methodof examination and treatment. It begins at the scene of the accident where simple things can make a major difference aiming to pressure life, prevent the condition worsening, promote recovery and relieve pain. Secondary the trauma team at trauma centre will be responsible of the primary survey and resuscitation phase, secondary survey and definitive care.
