"Study of Air Pollution in the Industrial Area of Shaq El-Teeban in Cairo"
Ahmed Shehata Abd El Maksoud;
Abstract
Ancient populations of the world encountered environmental hazards only in the process of providing food and shelter for themselves. The hazards have changed over the years through the long evolution of the human race on earth, the only one planet on which to live:
The industrial revolution which had been started in the thirteenth century intensified these hazards and brought new ones while the recent accelerated development of science, technology and urban felicity lead to more complicated situation. The vitally important of such hazards are those threatening the exhaustion and/or quality of the fundamental basics of human existence, namely: air, water and soil resources. The most indispensable of these is air, since without it man cannot survive for more than few minutes.
