The Effect of Employees Engagement on Organizational Citizenship Behaviors “An Empirical Study on the Academic Staff Members at Ain Shams University”

Abstract
Purpose – With employer-employee relationship becoming an area of growing concern in literature, the purpose of this study is to investigate the relationships and impact of Employee Engagement (EE) as an independent variables, on Organizational Citizenship Behaviour (OCB) as a dependent variable, while taking into consideration the effect of Demographic variables (Gender- Age- Academic degree) on both EE and OCB separately, which in turn might affect the impact of EE on OCB.

Methodology- The study was carried out in Ain Shams public University, collecting the data through questionnaires distributed on its academic staff members, with a total sample of 318 questionnaires valid for the statistical analysis. Correlation coefficients were calculated, regression analysis, and structured equation model (path analysis) was conducted.
Findings – The results were in line with previous literature, and fulfilled the objectives of the current study. The study found a positive direct impact of the independent variable (EE) on the dependent variables (OCB); in addition to finding an impact for the demographic variables on EE, while there was no impact for the demographic variables on
