BIOCHEMICAL STUDIES ON ISOLATION OF SOME GLYCOSIDIC ENZVMES FROM PLANTS

Abeer Essam El-Din Mahmoud Aly;

Abstract

The present study is conducted to investigate the possible production of highly amount of purified enzymes from available economic sources for analytical, clinical and industrial purposes. The biochemical study of these
enzymes showed the following.

1- Screening experiments on seeds of seven species of
Cruciferous family [Brassica alba (white mustard),
Brassica nigra (Black mustard),

(yellow mustard), Brassica napus Brassica juncea

(rape), Raphanus
sativus (radish), Brassica campestris (turnip) and Brassica oleracea (cabbage)] were done to determine some S and a-glycosidic hydrolase enzymes. An appreciable amounts of myrosinase, amylase and disaccharidase enzymes were found in all seeds examined. Generally, these enzymes were found to have higher activities in the germinated seeds than in
powdered or defatted one and the most producer of the three glycosidic enzymes were found in radish and turnip seedling. Highest enzymes activities (myrosinase, amylase and disaccharidase) were achieved when both radish and turnip seeds were germinated in light at 25-30°C for 4-6 days.
