A PHYSIOLOGICAL STUDY TO EVALUATE THE ANTIOXIDATIVE ACTIVITY OF QUERCETIN AGAINST THE ISONIAZID-INDUCED ADVERSE REACTIONS IN MALE ALBINO RATS

Ghada Mohammed Ahul-Fotouh Mohammed Adly;

Abstract

The present study was suggested in order to evaluate the possible protective role of the flavonoid, quercetin (Qc) against the adverse reactions of the anti-tuberculosis (anti-TB) drug, viz. isoniazid (isonicotinic acid hydrazine, INH), at a dose equivalent to the human therapeutic dose throughout five weeks of daily administration to rats. In addition, the possibility of . the occurrence of any side effects due to quercetin administration was taken into account by studying its effects alone.
