Abstract


Job satisfaction is a very important attribute, which is frequently measured by organization. Job satisfaction is a pathway to high productivity and to high quality production, and that the job itself must provide sufficient variety, sufficient complexity, sufficient skill to engage the abilities of the worker. Job satisfaction reflects a degree of congruity between a worker’s expectations of the job and experience of the job. It expresses the amount of agreement between these expectations and the rewards the job provides. Job satisfaction is recognized as one among other variables including ability and motivation at attended work, which can influence nurse absenteeism. Nurses, who are more satisfied with their jobs, are more likely to stay on job. High job satisfaction is a hall mark of a well-managed organization. Satisfaction with a pleasurable work experience can increase the desire to attend work.
The present study aimed identifying the factors affecting job satisfaction among head nurses working in Ain Shams University Hospitals through, assessing levels of job satisfaction among them and investigating the relationship between certain demographic characteristics of the head nurses and their job satisfaction. The study was conducted at Ain Shams University Hospitals by using a descriptive design. Subjects included in the were (130) head nurses. Data were collected using a self administered
