The significance of some ANCAs Rheumatoid Arthriti.s

Heba Ahmed Hamdi Zaki;

Abstract

Rheumatoid arthritis can be complicated by vascular inflammation that mainly involves small and medium-sized vessels. The diagnosis of RV is generally made by histological examination of affected organs and the activity is monitored by the documentation of signs and symptoms. Serological markers of RV could be of help in the diagnostic process and provide a way to monitor therapeutic intervention.

Antibodies to neutrophil cytoplasmic antigens (ANCAs) have been extensively studied as markers for systemic vasculitis and cresentic glomerulonephritis. The purpose of this work was to study myeloperoxidase (MPO), cANCA and proteinase (PR3) in rheumatoid patients and their possible association with rheumatoid vasculitis.
