Professional Identity and Organizational Commitment among Nurses

Abstract


Nurses' Professional identity influences work performance and organizational commitment, nurses' who are identified and internalized with the profession values are expected to perform well and seeking professional development and committed to their organization. Professional identity and organizational commitment are responsible, to a large extent, for peoples' work related behavior. While Professional identity influences organizational commitment, the outcomes of both are of crucial importance to organizations and can be tangible or intangible.
The aim of this study is to assess the Professional identity and organizational commitment among nurses through: determining the level of Professional identity Professional identity among nurses, assessing the level of organizational commitment among nurses, and finding out the relationship between Professional identity and organizational commitment among nurses'.
A descriptive, correlational design were used. The study was conducted at Arab contractors medical center, the study sample was included 140 nurses. Data for this study was collected by using two tools namely; Professional identity questionnaire sheet and organizational commitment scale.
