A clinicopathological study of Helic.obacter pylori in gastric Carcinoma

Abstract


This study was conducted on 27 person attending the gastrointestinal endoscopy unit at Cairo University hospitals. Twelve patients with gastric malignancies and other fifteen person were normal . Three methods were used for diagnosis of H. pylori, histopathology, CLOtest, and 13C-urea breath test . In the obtained study the chronic inflammatory cells, polymorphnuclear cells, mucosal atrophy and intestinal metaplasia were present in higher percentage in the infected cases with H. pylori than non infected cases . The 13C-UBT is non-invasive test with highest efficacy and more comfortable to patients .The mechanism , by which H. pylori can induce gastric cancer may depend on the virulence of organism and also H. pylori is not the only risk factor in gastric cancer.
