Nehal Mahmoud Ezzat Ebrahim El-Bakr;

Abstract

he present study was carried out to evaluate some Egyptian legume germplasms as raw and germinated foods and as a source of plant proteins. The work included the study of the genetic diversity between faba bean and its related wild species, which grow naturally in the north-west coastal region of Egypt and the characterization of the inter- and intraspecific relationships within the genus Vicia, based upon the total seed storage protein, some isozymes, the amino acid composition of seed protein, carbohydrate content, total nitrogen, and RAPD-PCR analysis.
