Updates in the Management of Morbid Obesity

Abstract

Abstract
Excellent surgical outcomes require the appropriate selection of patients, through preoperative preparation, technically well-performed operations, and attentive post operative care.
A bariatric patient requires particularly attentive and special postoperative care in several areas above and beyond those for the average surgical patient.
There are many complications that may occur intraoperative or postoperative for the patients who undergo different bariatric procedures.
The most dreaded complication after bariatric surgery is a leak from the gastrointestinal tract.
The best approach for complication management is to avoid them all together.
