EFFECT OF MOLYBDENUM ON NITROGEN AVAILABILITY IN SOIL AND ITS METABOLISM IN PLANT

Ali Mohammed Massoud Shehata;

Abstract

This investigation was conducted to study the effect of molybdenum addition alone or combined with nitrogen fertilization or/and inoculated with Azospirillum in case of wheat and Rhizobium in case of pea on dry matter, yield and its components, nutrients uptake, protein content and nitrogenase activity in wheat plant (Variety Sakha 69) and pea (Pisum sativum, cv. Little Marvell) during vegetative and harvesting growth stages. Two experiments were performed, one in pots for wheat and the another in field for pea in two seasons 1996/1997 and 1997/1998 in the Farm of Agricultural Faculty of Shebin El-Kom, Egypt.
