Abstract

Miniaturized thermal light sources are main elements for spectroscopic and in-terferometric sensors. Their low price and compact size participate in the process of converting bulky devices into the sensor scale adapted for various kinds of applica-tions containing conventional and nonconventional environments. This serves the In-formation and Communication Technology (ICT) trend of wireless sensors and Inter-net of Things (IoT). The applications include –but not limited to – ICT for agriculture related to soil analysis and crop monitoring in smart farms, ICT for health related to biomedical analysis in point-of-care testing, water pollution problems and quality
