Abstract

The horse is the result of evolutionary change over millions of years. The first evidence for the existence of Equus, the ancestor of the present - day horse, is apparent in North America from where it migrated to the rest of the world befor the land masses separated (Morel, 1999).

Recent dev lopment in equine medicine and reproduction has meant that an extra care needs to be assimilated towards equine by practicing students, veterinarians and horse breeders.

Arabian horses were and still be extra- ordinary animals with global reputation for purity, beauty and outstanding value. Arabian mares are more or less delicate animals if compared with other equines as thoroughbred mares,
mules, donkeys, etc.

Breeding of Arabian horses usually faces some troubles due to reproductive disorders particularly those caused by bacterial agents. Among these disorders infertility, abortion and inflammation of the different sites of the reproductive tract which represent the most important affections.

Gram negative bacteria mainly Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Proteus mirabilis, Klebsiella pneumoniae, and Shigella species
