Abstract


Women throughout the world expenence menopause which is defined as the period during which ovarian function declines leading to several heaJth changes and problems whether physical, psychological, social or sexual. These problems may render a woman's life unpleasant.
The nurse can offer counseling about all aspects and management

of menopause for women at their developmental phase of life.



The present study aimed to evaluate the effect of counseling on menopausal women's health. The data were collected two different settings. Out patient Gynecologic clinics and in-patient department at Ain Shams Maternity Hospital and women's health center at Nasser Institute Hospital.


The study was conducted on 150 menopausal women, who have been selected randomly after exclusion of women who cannot receive HRT. The study sample had age ranged from 45-
55 years (natural and iatrogenic menopause), of different educational and occupational background.
