Immunohistochemical Expression of Debiquitinating Enzyme OTUB1 in Colorectal Carcinoma
Diana Zarif Saad Beshara;
Abstract
Summary
T
his retrospective study was conducted on forty- five colorectal carcinoma. Cases were collected randomly from colectomy specimens, during the period from 2012 till 2016. Sections were prepared from paraffin blocks and slides were stained with hematoxylin and eosin and immuno-histochemically stained with OTUB1 antibody. Ten cases of non-neoplastic colonic lesions obtained by colonoscopic biopsies were included as control.
Most of the studied cases of CRC were patients older than 40 yearsrepresenting 78% of all cases. The age of the patients ranged from 23 to 70 years with mean age 50.64±12.27 year. Female predominance constituted (57.8%) of all cases.
Left sided CRC in the studied cases was slightly higher than right sided representing 57.8% of all cases. Mean tumor size was 4.69 cm in its highest dimension.
The percentage of the studied CRC cases that infiltrated into the subserosa or into non peritinalized pericoloic or perirectal tissue (T3) constituted 40% of cases. CRC with positive lymph node metastasis constituted 70.1% of all cases. 57.8% of all cases showed no evidence of distant metastasis.
Stage ΙΙΙ and stage ΙV each constituted 40% of all CRC cases. OTUB1 overexpression was observed in (69.2%) of high grade CRC.
