Abstract

This study was carried out to compare the effect of ERA versus ball and socket mini-implant attachments on the supporting structures using Cone Beam CT. Also, occlusal load analysis was performed using T-Scan III system.
Fourteen male patients were selected from the out-patient clinic, Prosthodontic Department, Faculty of Dentistry, Ain Shams University to participate in this study. Patients were selected and thoroughly examined in an attempt to reduce human variables and eliminate any factor that might adversely affect the results of this study.
Patients were rehabilitated by implant retained mandibular single dentures. Standard clinical and laboratory techniques were followed for mandibular single dentures construction for all patients. Patients participating in this study were randomly divided into two equal groups.
Group 1: Four mini dental implants (MDI) with ERA attachment were installed in the inter-foraminal area.
Group 2: Four mini dental implants (MDI) with Ball and Socket attachment were installed in the inter-foraminal area.
