Abstract

Field experiments were undertaken during 1998 and 1999 seasons at Minia El-Kamh, Sharkia Governorate. Cotton seeds treated with imidacloprid increased the emergence of cotton seeds, succeded to protect cotton plants from aphids, thrips and whitefly but decreased the numbers of predators. Increasing the levels of N and P fertilization caused increase the levis of aphid and white fly infestation. Potassium fertilization decreased the aphid and whitefly infestation. Lufenuron was proven to be more rapid and effective against cotton leaf worm than flufenoxuron. Mean food consumed were decreased in treated larvae as compared with that of untreated ones. Fenpropathrin exhibited better efficacy than cyanophos on Pectinophora gossypiella. Moreover, significant lower infestation percentages were noticed when spraying with insecticides took place rapidly after maximum 3 days from 2 moths/trap/night.
