Abstract


The first area of study is Ismailia Canal originated from River Nile, which is vital for irrigation!fishing and other domestic uses in Egypt. It pas es through
Qalubia, Sharkia and Ismailia GovernoratJs. Its length
I
is about 128.5 km where its mouth lay at kilo 16 from
River Nile at Shoubra EI-Mazalate area an1d the end of
Canal at kilo 128.5 km in front of"Isma lia Hawis".
. I
Its width ranging from a maximum of <50 meters at
I
distance 31.2 km and a minimum of 12 meters at
distance 123 km, the maximum depth orthe Canal is about 4 meters at the mouth and the whter level is
11.30 meters a above mean sea level .

* The second studied area can be consider as the most important one situated on the River Nile bpposite to Shoubra EI-Kheima Electric station. The !\working of this station start in November 1985 and it consists of . four units which are working by Natural gas and Mazot. The waste of the station include,[ industrial, sewage and recooling water drain in the River Nile.

* The present study started from June 1995 to August
1996.
