STUDIES ON WHITE MOLD OF CUCURBITS

Abstract


White mold disease is consider among the most serious diseases afiecting ucurbits plants in Egypt.
Data . obtained m this investigation can be summerized as follows:-
1- Cucumber was the most affected host followed by

quash. Tomato, pepper, lettuce and pea were susceptible. Strawberry and cabbage were moderately susceptible. Sunflower was the least susceptible one.
2- Survey studies indicated the disease was more prevalent during cucumber plants in EI-Kaluobiya Governerate followed by El Ismailia, while it was less xcurrence in Menofia Governerate.
3- All the tested samples of S. sclerotiorum belonged to only one isolate, where' no significant differences we:"i:: observed in pathogenicity of them.
