STUDY OF CERTAIN HYPOTENSIVE FACTORS IN CIRRHOTIC RABBITS
Heba Mohamed Shawki Shedeed;
Abstract
The aim of this study was to investigate the factors involved in the pathogenesis of some of the cardiovascular abnormalities associated with liver cirrhosis.
Arterial hypotension which has been observed in liver cirrhosis was associated with elevated plasma noradrenaline, increased secretion of vasodilators such as nitric oxide and prostacyclin, but nitric oxide plays the main role in the pathogenesis of this abnormality.
Further studies are needed . to focus the light on the other factors responsible for the different haemodynamic abnormalities in liver cirrhosis.
