PRECISION LAND LEVELING BY USING LASER TECHNOLOGY UNDER THE CONDITIONS OF FAYOUM GOVERNORATE

Abstract


The main aim of this investigation was to choose the most suitable precision land leveling by using laser technology under the conditions of Fayoum Governorate. This study was conducted to investigate the effect of traditional and precision land leveling methods. The land leveling was carried out with four different slopes.

The present investigation covered the effect ofland leveling systems on:


1- Some soil physical properties such as soil bulk density, soil porosity and void ratio.

2- Performance of machinery.


3- Power and energy requirements during land leveling and ploughing by using chisel plough.

4- Irrigation water use and irrigation efficiency.


5- Germination ratio, some physical properties of plants and total yield for sunflower crop.

6- Operation costs for land leveling (laser and traditional).


Five different systems of land leveling beside unleveled system were tested through out this investigation. They were defined as follow:

1- Traditional land leveling (scraper+ tractor)+ chisel plough.


2- Laser land leveling with slope zero + chisel plough.


3- Laser land leveling with slope 0.01% +chisel plough.
