Abstract
Shivering is one of sequale of perioperative hypothermia. To understand mechanism of shivering, it is important to understand physiolq,>y of thennoregulation during general anaesthesia & neuroaxial anaesthesia. Several durgs as cholinomimetics. Biogenic monoamines peptides, Analeptic agents, cations and NMDA receptor antagonists have modulats effect on shivering. Meperdine still has an unique effects as antishivering drugs. Management of Shivering includes perioperative control of hypothennia and use of anti shivering drugs. Alos, Amino acids containing solutions have anti shivering effects.
