Abstract


Microbial contamination of pharmaceutical preparations is a common problem which has been reported for several medicaments. Such products can adversely affect health status of consumers as well as the stability profiles of the products. Therefore, there is a need to know the microbial content of all drugs and medicines, whether they are sterile or nonsterile. Several different cases of infections caused by the use of contaminated medicaments have been reported. Hence, Microbial spoilage of pharmaceuticals and cosmetics is significant both from health and economic view points and obviously should be prevented.
