Abstract


SUMMARY
here is a widespread assumption that fungal infection are more common in immunocompromised patients. Moreover, there is an impression that the clinical course of fungal infection is more fulminant and severe in immunocompromised patients. This study aims to give which aflatoxine produce from aspergillus species in immunocompromised hospitalized patients.
A total of 220 diabetic patients hospitalized at Ain Shams University Specialized Hospital and Wadi El Neel Hospital were included in this study. The underlying conditions of the study populations were as follow: Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease patients (COPD), asthmatic bronchitis, pneumonia, Fever of unknown origin, myocardial infarction, atrial fibrillation hypertension, renal failure, Liver cell failure and diabetic foot.
Among the studied patients, a total of 135 (61.4%) were males, while 85 (38.6%) were females. Patients were categorized into two age groups, ≤50 and >50 years old. The majority of the patients were ≤50 years old (52.7%), while 47.3 % were >50 years old.
