Abstract


Oral health is defined by WHO as a state of complete normality and

functional efficiency of teeth, suppmting stmctures, surrounding parts of

oral cavity and various structul'es related to mastication and maxillofacial

complex












The tissues of oral cavity may be affected by toxic agents either by direct action as in exposure to sulfuric acid fumes or through systemic exposure as in poisoning with heavy metals e.g. lead and mercury. Teeth, periodontal tissue, lips, tongue, mucous membrane, salivary glands and jaw .
