"TAXONOMICAL AND ECOLOGICAL STUDIES ON FRESHWATER FLEAS(CRUSTACEA) IN QENA GOVERNORATE"

Amal Ahmed Mahmoud;

Abstract

The cladoceran species constitute an important group of crustacean zooplankton. They are small, mostly microscopic animals with size ranging from about 0.2 to 3.0 mm, or even more. They play an important role in the food chain, where they form a critical intermediate link between the primary producers and the higher consumers.
