Abstract
The main objectives of this study were obtained the information about, genetic behavior of groups of white inbred lines of maize through line x tester analysis for grain yield, under different environments, to identify the best type of tester for evaluating the inbred lines, identify highly lines set and lower lines set in general combining ability and evaluate each set in
•;heir diallel crosses under different environments to compare between them for plant and ear characters, determine the optimum environmental condition suitable to perform high grain yield and other desired plant characters and to identify the superior top crosses and single crosses. In 1997 early summer season, the sixty four inbred lines derived from different sources were top crossed with four testers of different genetic base namely, SCIO and SC122, TWC321 and TWC watania-1.
