Part.!. Studies on the stem borers, Chrysobothris
9rs?tFab., and ?tosima rr9ecimmaculata Herbst.



The stem borers, Qhrysobothris dorsata and Ptosima flecimmaculata,are described of the destructive insect pests of several fruit trees including apricot.
Therefore symptoms and percentages of infestation and
ecological studies on both species and associated parasitoid additional to biological study on the latter

pest were carried out in Ibshawai region, Fayoum

Governorate.


I. Ecological studies on - dorsata and an associated parasitoid

- In both seasons of 1991 and 1992, - dorsata has one adult brood covered the period extended from the first half of April to the second half of July The recorded peak was occured during the first half of May.

- The separate effect of the prevaling weather

factors (max. and min. temperatures.and R.H.) on

the activity of the beetle were insignificant positive in the first year of study and negative in the second one.
